Tick Tock

What a very good morning I must say! It wasn't much of a surprise we were going to have a timed task first thing in the morning as there were certain hints floating around. I found the task very positive and a good start to the morning. It gave a great insight into how the industry will run. I think it would be a valuable experience to do a whole day of pressured tasks. It would identify our individual weakness and enable us to work on those problems before going into the industry (the deep end)A5Finishing the website to a satisfactory level I have begun changing the overall theme of the web site. At first I was very displeased with the idea of changing my web site from the original screen design. After a chat with Steve, I became slightly more comfortable with the idea, still displeased however.I guess it is just because of the vast amount of work I had to put into to the original design I felt as though I couldn't cope with the amount of work again in the time restraints I currently have. After I played around in Photoshop with a screenshot for a few hours, I could see a big change an improvement.

I have added a little colour which has added a slightly warmer and more welcoming feel to the design. At the end of yesterday I came up with a final design that I am happy with and will upload it for comments later this week. This weeks tasks are:complete the new styleHook up CGI Script

I think you're reaction to having to change your site is one many of us would share, especially considering how much progress you had made building it.

However, I think it definitely shows a higher level of commitment, maturity and flexibility in being willing to take the advice on board and react to it. These are certainly attributes which will be held in high regard by future employees.

I look forward to seeing your revised designs!

I'm also going to have to amend the design of my site after receiving some feedback from Steve, John, and a number of people on Das Forum. At first, like you, I felt a bit annoyed about this, but in the long run it's beneficial to listen to the advice given by more experienced people.

Hope the redesign goes well!

It just goes to show that feedback is a crucial element of the design process. I too have reconsidered my design after initial feedback inline with the project goals. It is difficult to let a design go that you feel positive about, however if you don’t have the flexibility to take on feedback your designers sole will be destroyed.

Receiving is one of the most important part of this assignment and probably have a large impact on the overall look and feel of the website compared to the original web plan.

We have all put in a large amount of time and effort into our design and due to this I think we can get to close to them. This prevents us from seeing small mistakes we might of made or bigger changes that could improve the website.
