Time to relax for a minute or TWO

This week has been a much more relaxed than I thought it would have. I think this is because I tried not to be stressed as it just makes things worse. Most of the time you can solve a problem when you are calm and logical thinking about the task at hand.

I didn’t think I would ever be at a stage that I would be ready to have in by now. But here I am making one of my final reflections for this assignment three hours after submission. I have never known time go so fast. I go back to one of my previous entries, it is not finished, as I could work on it for another year if I could. Things like this can just be added to and added to, something PERFECT could be added to.

Next time I will look into Versioning.

I think that has been a helpful pulling point for me in this unit, throughout the assignment I repeatedly made “drafts” and then went back to complete them. At first I tried to complete as much as I could and then added more and more to it each time I revisited it.

I feel confident that I have fulfilled at least the pass criteria, but if the worst comes to the worst, I have to accept it. After all I am enrolled onto this course to learn not just to complete a series of tasks. There would be no point in actually doing a course on something that I am already perfect at.

Yesterday I was accidentally called into a feedback group with John to check on our work. Little did he know I WAS Gary. Perhaps at some point we should get the ball out again and get him to name us. Having been a mistake I realise what I have been missing out on. John gave me some very useful advice feedback. It would perhaps be useful to have similar sessions with John and in the future.

After the half term we will be swapping the seminar groups. I can understand the point of doing this. Taking us out of our comfort zones will help us to develop a working relationship with everyone in the group. It will also help us to develop our professional working skills ready for industry.

I am looking forward to the next two assignments. It will give me a challenge to produce better quality work but at the same time work under very strict time constraints in order to complete two assignments at once.

I understand what tour saying by calmness been the key to solving any problem. And I can probably relate to not been calm, like when I took a sudden dash out of the class to retrieve a disk labelling kit......Perhaps something I should have questioned rather then leaving to the very last minute I supose...

Hi Gary

Yes i was allot more relaxed also, however 2 weeks before hand in date i was worried, i dont no why as the actual hand in date i was calm. I think it may be because we wanted it ready a week or two before so we could show steve.

I'm also quite looking forward to being in a new feedback group, I reckon it should help us all develop better relationships with everyone on the course. Working with people we might not necessarily choose to work with will also prepare us for the future, as this is bound to happen to us all at some point in life... particularly with clients!

I learnt on Monday night that getting stressed doesn’t help you finish your assignments, so I agree keeping calm is the best way to complete an assignment.
The seminar meeting have been really useful helping solve problems that I have had with my assignment and I can also see why Steve is swapping us around because you, Sean and me got on as a group and I felt comfortable in our group but Steve doesn’t want use to be in a comfort zone, and it’ll be good to talk to people, we haven’t yet talk to in the class.
